London - Royal officials say Prince Harry is to receive the Atlantic Council Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership in Washington DC on May 7.
The palace says Harry will accept the award for the charity work he and his brother Prince William have been doing through their foundation.
In a statement released on Monday, officials said Harry will use the occasion to pay tribute to British and American veterans' charities for their work to help rehabilitate wounded soldiers.
Harry has supported various charities working with wounded veterans.
