London - Britain's Prince William has given his first official interview to an author.
The second-in-line to the British throne sat down with Robert Hardman for his upcoming book Our Queen, which will be released to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 60th year on the throne.
The interview took place after his wedding to Kate Middleton, but the details are being kept secret until the book's release in October.
However, discussing the book, Robert said: "There is this timeless quality about her. The more you talk to Her Majesty's family and to her people, the more impressive the scale of her achievement becomes."
Next year a number of large celebrations are planned in the UK to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's time on the throne.
The main celebrations will take place across an extended weekend from June 2 to 5, and events will include a concert at Buckingham Palace – the queen's official London residence – and the lighting of 2012 beacons across the UK.
