Royal couple sue over wedding rumours

Paris - Prince Albert II of Monaco and his wife Charlene are suing a French magazine over reports it published before their wedding saying they were splitting up, a royal spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday.

The couple were both suing L'Express for invasion of privacy and the publishing of incorrect facts about their private lives, the spokesperson said. The case had been filed at a court in Nanterre, near Paris.

L'Express reported that Charlene fled to Nice airport with the intention of returning to her native South Africa after learning something about Albert's private life, among other attempts, before the wedding took place at the beginning of July.

The palace and the couple have already denied the reports.
