SA born actor returns from Hollywood

Johannesburg- Actor Sean Cameron Michael has recently returned from Hollywood to film a new movie in and around Johannesburg called, Last Broken Darkness.

Sean, who has spent a lot of time abroad told The Juice that South Africa will always be home. Even though Sean was awarded a US green card, he says he's been fortunate enough to have the best of both worlds.

"I've been fortunate that a lot of the projects I've worked on have been shot in South Africa, so I've travelled between here and the States," Sean said.

About his latest project, Sean says he hopes that it will set a new standard for SA movies.

"Last Broken Darkness has been shot at various locations around Johannesburg, which is going to be an amazing showcase of the country. I'm excited about the movie and hope that it sets a benchmark for the country," Sean added.

Over the past 30 years Sean has worked on over 80 television series' and feature films, and has built a career that every actor dreams of.

And, while this may be case, Sean says that he still has a lot to learn and is always learning.

"When I arrived in Los Angeles I quickly learnt that the industry works completely differently to South Africa. It's closed and is an incredibly tricky market to get into," he explained.

Sean added that when he started acting almost 30 years ago as a teenager, he started right at the bottom and did everything he could to learn and get as much exposure as possible.

"I would advise any young actor getting into the industry to be like a sponge, join as many drama clubs and societies so that you can get exposure. If you have the right attitude, are prepared to work hard and you are passionate, then there's nothing that can stop you from fulfilling your dream," he went on to add.

Last Broken Darkness is expected to hit box in the country early next year.
