Suge Knight arrested in LA

Los Angeles - Rap music mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday for assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

Knight, 45, who co-founded Death Row Records in the 1990s and helped launch rap acts like Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur, was pulled over by police early on Thursday. Local TV station KABC broadcast video of Knight being handcuffed next to his white Cadillac SUV.

Los Angeles police said he was also booked for driving on a suspended license. They did not give details of the allegations.

Knight, who sold Death Row Records in 2008, served time behind bars in 1997 and 2003 for parole violations stemming from assault charges. He was arrested in Las Vegas in 2008 on drug and assault charges but later cleared.
