They want to put toilets in Japanese lifts?!

Los Angeles - Toilets and drinking fountains could soon be installed in lifts in Japan.

Owing to frequent earthquakes in the country, people are often trapped for hours inside lifts in Japan and so efforts are being made to ensure they are made more suitable for long-term use, Kyodo reports.

To this end, it's been confirmed that officials from the infrastructure ministry and the Association of Elevator Markers will soon meet to discuss the proposals, which could lead to larger lifts in the Asian country being installed with new facilities.

Here are 4 main concerns we have with this inventive idea:

1. Will there be a door / curtain separating the toilet from the rest of the lift?

2. Will there be a wash basin?

3. WHERE will the waste go?

4. Will the toilet operate when the lift is going up? #Gravity
