Van Damme denies 'heart attack'

Washington - Action film star Jean-Claude Van Damme brushed aside reports on Wednesday that he had suffered a heart attack on a movie set, saying he was "100% healthy".

"Please, do not believe all what you read from rumours on any unofficial JCVD sites," the Belgian-born actor said on his Facebook page.

"Jean-Claude Van Damme is 100% healthy, training well for taking the fight and sending his fans and friends much love."

A similar statement was posted on his official website.

Earlier, the entertainment website TwitchFilm.net reported that Van Damme suffered a minor heart attack on a set in New Orleans for the upcoming film Weapon and was taken briefly to a hospital.

The report said he flew back to Belgium with his wife, Gladys Portugues, for recuperation.

But the actor's "Muscles From Brussels" offered a different version: "He did not suffer from a heart attack on the set of Weapon as reported on some websites."
