PIC: Rolene Strauss rubs shoulders with Princess Charlene in Monaco

Cape Town – Rolene Strauss spent her weekend rubbing shoulders with South African-born Princess Charlene of Monaco.

The former Miss South Africa attended the 74th Formula One Monaco Grand Prix with her husband in the Western European country.

In the midst of the 3-day event, Rolene posed with Princess Charlene and thanked her for her hospitality.

Rolene wrote alongside a picture: “Such a lovely soul, thank you so much for the hospitality Princess Charlene. Looking forward to the final race tomorrow. Dress by @wernerwesselscollective in collaboration with @biji_la_maison (sic)”

The Monaco Grand Prix traditionally sees an influx of movie stars from nearby Cannes, where the famous film festival is held.

This year, the events were a week apart but there was a notable absence of big names.

However, actor Patrick Dempsey — a huge motorsport fan — was spotted chatting with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and runner-up Daniel Ricardo before the race.

The rainy but glitzy event was won by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.
