Queen Elizabeth II tweeted for the second time ever and this is what she said!

London — Queen Elizabeth II has sent a tweet for only the second time, to thank people who offered her 90th birthday wishes on social media.

On the royal family's official Twitter account, the queen wrote: "I am most grateful for the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R."

The "R'' stands for "regina," Latin for queen.

Another tweet added: "This tweet was personally sent by Her Majesty The Queen."

Buckingham Palace also issued a picture of the queen using a tablet computer atop an ornate desk at Windsor Castle.

The queen sent her first ever tweet in 2014 when she opened the Information Age gallery at London's Science Museum.

The queen does not have a personal Twitter account.
