Sun City -
The title of Boerewors Champion has been awarded to Jaco Labuschagne, a 13-year old from Boksburg.
After four months and four rounds of elimination during which more than 1100 entrants were whittled down to only ten, the title of Boerewors Champion was awarded on Saturday to Labuschagne.
Labuschagne, a learner at Concordia Primary School, received the grand prize of a brand-new Toyota Hilux 2.7 Double Cab. He also received other vouchers and cash-prizes.
Second place was awarded to Alice Dunn from KwaZulu-Natal and third place to Jasper Johannes Gordon, who lives in Strand in the Western Cape.
This annual event, now in its 18th year, provides boerewors makers the chance to show their flair for producing the tastiest traditional boerewors in the country.
