Cape Town - Shock, horror and anger.

This was the first reaction of two of the main actors in the soapie 7de Laan after it was brought to their attention that they're involved in a scandal on Facebook in which very young girls were asked to send half-naked pictures of themselves to a particular e-mail address.

Amalia Uys, who plays San-Mari van Graan, and Donnalee Roberts, who plays Annelie van Dijk, accidentally found out about two months ago that a pervert had created fake Facebook profiles of them.

On the profiles, girls between 13 and 15 years old are invited to send pictures of themselves "in just a bra and g-string" to a particular email address (not Uys or Roberts's e-mail).

There are specific instructions on how the girls should pose. The photos would've apparently been used to produce clothes for children.

Media spokesperson for 7de Laan, Libby Nel, said on Sunday that the two women are both shocked and angry because their names have been linked to such a filthy, disgusting thing.

"I don't believe they are now, two months later, over the shock yet. We notified the police immediately. Members of the police's specialist unit for electronic crimes questioned both of them in our presence. I believe the fake profiles have been removed."

The public and especially parents of young children should be on the lookout, she said. Nobody has been apprehended in connection with the incident.
