Johannesburg - The Afrikaans singer Arno Jordaan’s brother, Dewald, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was involved in a head-on collision on Wednesday morning, Volksblad reported.
Dewald and the driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her early twenties, were removed from their vehicles by bystanders mere seconds before both vehicles went up in flames.
ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said both patients would surely have died if it wasn't for the brave act from bystanders.
“Dewald was taken to the Pretoria East Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. The female patient was in severe pain and airlifted from the scene to the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg,” Jackson said.
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
Arno Jordaan was also involved in a serious accident earlier this year. Arno tweeted a photo of his brother's accident scene on Wednesday morning.
