Cape Town – Amor Vittone has claimed that her recent sacking from radio station Jacaranda 94.2 was due to "the Joost-issue".
Vittone hosted a programme on the station that aired on Sundays. Her contract came to an end in June and was not renewed. Jacaranda 94.2 has confirmed to Channel24 that Vittone is no longer employed at the radio station but did not elaborate why her contract was not renewed.
Vittone wrote on her Twitter page on Monday: "Yes I'm off jacaranda, because management felt that the "negative publicity" surrounding the 'joost issue" is not good for the jac brand! Mm (sic)"
Vittone is currently embroiled in divorce proceedings with estranged husband Joost van der Westhuizen.
Van der Westhuizen revealed in May 2011 that he had been diagnosed with a motor neuron disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Vittone, however, decided to continue with the divorce proceedings.
