Johannesburg – Joost van der Westhuizen is accusing his estranged wife, Amor Vittone, of being more interested in his money than his health.
”If she will just answer her phone when I phone her, I will be able to explain everything, but she doesn’t answer. She doesn’t care.”
His anger and disappointment came to the fore after Amor told Die Huisgenoot that she didn’t believe the announcement that Joost was suffering from a deadly disease.
After Joost was admitted to hospital, Dr Pieter Kritzinger told her he had diagnosed Joost with the most common form of motor neuron disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Amor said Joost was not sticking to the original story.
Referring to Die Huisgenoot’s interview, Amor told Rapport: I’m very confused. Is Joost suffering from ALS or isn’t he?
“Who must I believe”
“I want him to be honest!”
‘I don’t want to become embroiled in mudslinging with the father of my children.
“But I can’t understand that he invited the media to tell his story before I knew.”
Expenses
Joost however said he had always been honest with Amor.
‘’I was admitted to the Sunninghill hospital and two hours later the media knew about it.
“Someone must have informed them.
‘’I have talked to Rapport to stop the speculation regarding my health.”
Joost talked exclusively to Rapport about his ALS on May 3.
He was very concerned about the welfare of his children Jordan, 7 and Kylie, 5 should something happen to him.
Joost isn’t just worried about his health because the divorce between him and his estranged wife is continuing.
Her legal representative, Claudio Bollo, said: “We’re asking for proper financial statements regarding Joost’s assets, income and expenses. His wife is entitled to this information.
Amor wants to divorce Joost, but how do you distribute assets if we don’t know what he has?
