Cape Town – Afrikaans singer Bobby van Jaarsveld landed the lead role in musical Dawid, which will be in theatres in 2013, reports Huisgenoot.
The musical, under the direction of Johan Vorster and Arnold Coleske, is about the work and life of the bible's King David.
Van Jaarsveld shared the news on his Facebook page: "Due to the size of the production, you will unfortunately have to wait until 2013 to see Bobby in the role of Dawid. It will however be worth the wait. Dawid, the musical, will exceed all your theatre expectations."
According to Van Jaarsveld, this is the biggest career-highlight of his life.
