THE Blues Broers will be performing one show only at Open Strings at Villa Brae in Kloof today.
They will perform two sets of music that will run the gamut from traditional acoustic blues to rock and jazz.
“2014 was a great year for us. We are spreading the word far and wide,” said Simon Orange, keyboard player and songwriter of the blues-rock band.
Since the launch of their seventh album Into the Red in January last year they have performed at the Standard Bank Jazz Festival in Grahamstown, appeared on the major TV networks, produced a sold-out show at Pretoria’s Atterbury Theatre, and featured on the Durban International Blues Festival and the Table Mountain Blues Summit.
Recently they acted as the house band for the Writer’s Guild of South Africa awards show, backing urban songstress Lira and laid-back crooner Tim Moloi.
Tickets are R150 and there is an optional dinner costing R60. Contact Rod Nichols at 082 653 3948 or e-mail email@example.com to secure your booking.
Doors open at 6 pm, and the show will begin at about 7.30 pm.
