Celebs tweet about Muammar Gaddafi

Cape Town - Various local and international celebrities have taken to Twitter to talk about former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's death.

TV personality and 5FM DJ Gareth Cliff tweeted: "If Gaddafi is dead, then the world is better now than before. A foster-parent of airline terrorism and a horrifyingly bad dresser."

Other celebrities also tried to see the humour in the situation, like Afrikaans singer Koos Kombuis who tweeted: "Gaddafi's final disgrace: even after his death, no-one is quite sure how to spell his name."

Socialite and self-proclaimed political activist Evita Bezuidenhout tweeted that "President Jacob Zuma can stop the R400 million renovations to all his houses. The expected house guest from Libya is not coming any more."

TV personality Piers Morgan posted the following on his Twitter account: "#Gadhafi has ruled #Libya since I was 4 years old. He's the Queen Victoria of despots."

Michael Gambon, known for his role as Professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films, tweeted: "Fuck me, they got Gadaffi; Bin Laden and Voldemort are dead. It's surely only a matter of time until Jeremy Kyle's reign of terror is over."

Asked whether he thought Gaddafi is really dead, local DJFresh jokingly replied: "He is not taking my calls so he might be".

Afrikaans singer Chris Chameleon expressed concern, tweeting: "These rebel guys randomly, incessantly firing their machine guns in the air... where do those bullets land? call the children indoors, now!"
