Dozi plans open air bushveld theatre

Johannesburg - Dozi invites his fans to "come drink a beer" in his "garden".

Dozi plans to launch an open-air theatre on his farm near Hartebeespoort dam by mid September where artists of different genres will play concerts to crowds of almost 800.

"It is about a nice Sunday afternoon get-together, where people can enjoy good music and good food," said Dozi.

"It is not a bar where people will party until midnight. We will be open from 12:00 to 18:00 every Sunday."

Artists like Bobby van Jaarsveld, Kurt Darren and Bok van Blerk will perform there.

Tickets will be available at the gate and will include a plate of food from the restaurant. Dishes such as potjiekos and proper burgers are high on Dozi's list of food to be included on the menu.

Musical menu

He also plans on diversifying the "musical menu".

"I have a deep love for blues, so there will be blues and jazz bands. I would like people to see that side of me."

Unknown bands will also get the opportunity to perform.

"The foundations have already been laid between the stables and the campsite. It is the main stage that will probably take the longest."

It is a child friendly environment with a sand pit, jungle gym and pony rides.

"I am also thinking of later building a landing strip and a helipad for small aircrafts. It is a dream I have had for a long time,” said Dozi.
