Cape Town - Elvis Blue was named the winner of Idols on Tuesday night.
The 30-year-old, whose real name is Jan Hoogendyk, hails from George.
After hearing his name called as the winner,
an emotional Blue first thanked L'loyd Cele, his opponent in the final round.
Blue said either one of them could have walked away with the title.
He also said he would be sharing his R500 000 prize money with Cele.
Over two million people voted for their favourite Idol since Sunday.
