Entertainers mourn DJ's death

Johannesburg - The entertainment industry is deeply saddened at the death of actor and popular Cape Town disc jockey Az Abrahams, film producer Anant Singh said on Sunday.

His death was a huge loss to all, Singh said in a statement.

"We are privileged to have worked with him on the film More Than Just a Game, which told the inspirational story of organised football on Robben Island," he said.

In the film, Abrahams portrayed former Robben Island inmate and freedom fighter Sedick Isaacs.

"He was a talented actor and radio personality who had a zest for life.

"He will be missed by all of us, his multitude of fans and the South African entertainment industry," Singh said.

Their thoughts and prayers were with the DJ's son, daughter and entire family.

Abrahams died on Saturday when his vehicle hit a concrete barrier and overturned on the N1 freeway, near Bellville.
