'I want to eat sushi off Debora Patta'

Johannesburg - He’s not done with sushi parties yet, said controversial nightclub owner Kenny Kunene.

And women’s bodies will still be the tray.

When he opens his third ZAR-club in Durban, he wants to eat sushi off an Indian woman’s body.

"I tasted sushi from a black woman at my birthday last year and from a white woman last weekend. Now I want the Indian."

In addition, he still wants to eat sushi off two other women: Lady Gaga "because she is an unbelievable artist"; and TV presenter Debora Patta, "because with her there is always something fishy".

Julius Malema

The "eating", however, will no longer take place in the public eye.

According to Rapport, he will be respecting the feelings of the ANC Women’s League, who over the last week objected to his sushi-women.

The pre-opening party for his Cape Town ZAR-club was held at the Waterfront last weekend.

The bar had two sports cars on each side, with models draped on top with sushi on their bodies.

Kunene, who upset Cosatu and its secretary-general Zwelinzima Vavi with his sushi parties last year, has upset the ANC and the ANC Women’s League this time around.

Kunene said it was a call from the ANC youth leader, Julius Malema, that prompted his decision to no longer hold public sushi parties.

Make money

There has been some speculation over the last week regarding whether Kunene has the correct licence for the nightclub.

His alcohol licence requires him to serve food together with alcohol. Kunene said he does serve food with his alcohol in Johannesburg and will do the same in Cape Town. He also stated that he doesn't agree with the alcohol law in Cape Town (alcohol may only be served to the public until 02:00), but will obey it.

"People only arrive at the ZAR around midnight. Then they only have two hours to drink. But the law is the law."

"ZAR is a place where people can network. I have had international soccer players and Prince Albert at my club. My prices are a bit higher because I don’t want guys sitting here for hours drinking one beer. I want to make money."

In addition to the planned ZAR branch in Durban, Kunene plans a ZAR-club in another African country as well as in the USA.
