FHM model loses sponsorship

Cape Town - FHM model Jessica Leandra dos Santos lost a major sponsorship and a complaint was lodged against her with the Human Rights Commission following a racist tweet on Thursday.

Quick Trim SA announced on Twitter that they're withdrawing their sponsorship of Leandra: "Due to the severity of the remarks by #JessicaLeandra #QuickTrimSA herewith ends our sponsorship to her with immediate effect!"

A complaint was also lodged against Leandra with the Human Rights Commission by activist and columnist Mabine Seabe. Seabe tweeted the following: "I have lodged a complaint against Jessica Leandra with the Human Rights Commission on the basis of crimen injuria and libel. #DownWithRacism"

FHM South Africa have also reacted to Jessica's words on Twitter: "We're horrified that any1 would say such things! Those attitudes have no place in society or FHM! [sic]"

"She's simply someone we photographed once, a year ago. We've deleted all her images & will have nothing to do with her," FHM added.

FHM editor Brendan Cooper told Eyewitness News, "We are appalled by Jessica's moronic, racist tweets. She in no way represents our brand."

Leandra came under a storm of criticism after posting a tweet on Thursday that read: "Just, well took on an arrogant and disrespectful kaffir inside Spar. Should have punched him, should have".
