John Cleese to tour SA

Cape Town – Big Concerts has announced that comedy legend and Monty Python member John Cleese is bringing his Alimony Tour to South Africa.

Cleese started out as a sketch writer for BBC Radio's Dick Emery Show, but is best known as creator, co-writer and actor in Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Cleese also starred in films such as A Fish called Wanda, The World is not Enough and Die Another Day.

His latest film role was that of ‘The Guv’ in the popular South African film Spud.

Cleese says his show "is an evening of well honed anecdotes, psychoanalytical tit-bits, details of recent surgical procedures, and unprovoked attacks on former colleagues, especially Michael Palin".
