Joost: Amor can't wait for me to die

Pretoria – Former Springbok captain Joost van der Westhuizen says his estranged wife, singer Amor Vittone can't wait for him to die.

Van der Westhuizen said this during an interview broadcast on Ballz Radio, in which he said Vittone saw him as "the enemy", reported Beeld.

Van der Westhuizen, who was suffering from motor neuron disease, was apparently talking with difficulty and at times, was hard to understand.

He commented on allegations that he was dragging his heels in finalising the divorce but said he was unable to meet the financial demands made by Vittone.

"I can't anymore give everything that Amor wants."

"I have no hidden agenda as to why I haven’t signed the settlement. I am simply forced to negotiate more due to my illness."

In an interview with Heat magazine, Van der Westhuizen apparently said he was happy to have contracted the terminal illness as he now knew where he came from and no longer was the man he used to be.

Vittone said she would not comment on what Van der Westhuizen had said.
