Jub Jub ‘bites Kelly on the face’

Johannesburg - Former lovers Kelly Khumalo and Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye were arrested early on Friday morning at Weltevreden Park, west of Joburg, after an alleged domestic fight.

Court officials said Khumalo appeared at the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court later that morning, with “a bite mark on her face” allegedly sustained during the fight.

Police spokesperson Karen Jacobs said Maarohanye and Khumalo had opened cases against each other.

“The two were both arrested early today [Friday], filed cases against each other, and appeared in court on the same day. They’ve both been charged with domestic violence assault,” said Jacobs.

“There were visible injuries to both parties, but we can’t disclose what they were as the two have to complete doctors’ forms as part of the case.

“The latest we’ve heard is that one of the cases was withdrawn and the other is continuing. We’re not clear who dropped the charge between the two parties as they left with the case docket.”

It’s not the first time that Khumalo has filed a case against her former lover.

According to reports, Maarohanye once beat Khumalo and her mother on their son’s birthday on May 12 at her home in Spruitview.

That same month she told Drum magazine she had left the rapper. But a little more than a month later they were reportedly spotted together.
