Cape Town – Afrikaans singer Karlien van Jaarsveld and rugby player Derick Hougaard are expecting their first child together.
Karlien, who married Derick in March this year in Stellenbosch, posted the news of her pregnancy in a series of tweets on Monday. She first tweeted "We have big news..." followed by "there's a small Hougaard on the way..."
Just a few hours after she announed the news, Karlien confirmed that she's "definitely" pregnant and thanked everyone for their beautiful messages which prompted her to do another pregnancy test.
Afrikaans singer Bobby van Jaarsveld, Karlien's brother, welcomed his second child in June 2012.
