Cape Town – Singer Karlien van Jaarsveld, sister of Afrikaans singer Bobby van Jaarsveld, tied the knot with rugby player Derick Hougaard on Friday, reports Die Burger.

On Friday morning Karlien tweeted: "Trourok, check. Paspoort, check. Op pad na jou toe met alles wat ek het, Derick. Sien so uit, my engel. Hier begin die lewe nou." (Wedding dress, check. Passport, check. On my way to you with everything I've got, Derick. So excited, my angel! Life is beginning now.)

The couple, who postponed their wedding last year due to personal issues, got married at the Brenaissance Wine & Stud Estate in Devon Valley in a cloudy and rainy Stellenbosch on Saturday.

"Dankbaar vir die beste vrou wat ek ken!!! Sien uit dat ons lewe saam begin!!!" (Thankful for the best woman I know! Excited to start our life together!), Derick tweeted on Friday.

Karlien's mother and manager Ronel Brink told Die Burger that the guest list did not only consist of celebrities, but also close friends and family.

According to Brink, the couple is definitely not going on honeymoon in South Africa.
