New Nando's ad gets down to Mandoza

Cape Town - The latest ad in the Nando's 25 Reasons We Love South Africa campaign has been released, and reveals the country's unofficial national anthem - Nkalakatha by Mandoza.

The new commercial in the series reads: Reason #2 - We all know the words to our national anthem.

In the ad, a female office worker stops everything she's doing to turn up the radio when Mandoza's hit kwaito tune, released in 2000, plays on the radio.

"I love this song so much!" she exclaims, before busting some moves while her horrified co-workers look on.

#25reasons

Nando's third ad in the series is to celebrate the chicken restaurant's 25th birthday. The integrated social media campaign also asks their customers to give their 25 reasons why they love South Africa.

Nando's has created a board on Pinterest detailing the #25reasons we love SA and gives viewers an opportunity to create a Pinterest board titled #25Reasons, re-pin your favourite reasons from our board, or create your own.

The most shared reasons will get made into an online video and Nando's vouchers will be given away randomly to #25reasons tweets / boards.

The new ad follows Reason #9: We have great athletes, which sees a shopper race to avoid car guards, and Reason #15: We still tell stories around the fire, which celebrates "izikhothane", infamous township demonstrations in which people publicly burn cash and destroy expensive goods.

The two previous ads have already generated nearly 150 000 views on YouTube in two weeks and the campaign has been covered internationally by AdWeek and Viral Blog.
