Nurse Elise gets engaged

Johannesburg – The actress Lindie Stander, better known as nurse Elise in the M-Net soap Binneland Sub Judice, has quietly gotten engaged to a woman who "knocked me off my feet in five minutes".

"Lucille (Koen) and I met each other six months ago for the first time," said the former Kwêla presenter on Sunday.

"After only five minutes I knew she was the woman for me and after only ten minutes I kissed her. It was love at first sight if I've ever seen it."

"Lucille is a wonderful person. She understands me. She accepts me with all my flaws. Our meeting and engagement two months ago was nothing short of a miracle."

Stander, 34, and Koen, 33, a travel consultant, plan to marry only in a year's time, "because now we are saving every cent for that big occasion".

Stander relayed the details of their romantic engagement.

"I was supposed to go to a photo shoot at Melrose Arch.

"But I had already bought a ring and was planning to ask Lucille to marry me after the photo shoot.

"Meanwhile Lucille had exactly the same plan, except that she used the supposed photo shoot as an excuse to get me in the hotel.

"When I walked into the room, there was no one in sight, just a huge bouquet of red roses with the most beautiful letter. I started crying and felt how she put her arms around me from behind.

"Then she went on her knee and asked me to marry her. I then told she had to stay right there on her knee because I wanted to ask her to marry me. Fortunately we both had our rings with us!"
