Cape Town - A former presenter of Radio Houtstok has lodged a complaint against Louis Baartman at The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).
Former presenter Anita van der Westhuizen used to host the afternoon show Uitvaltyd alongside Baartman, CEO of Radio Houtstock at the time.
The relationship between Baard and Van der Westhuizen eventually soured after it was claimed that he allegedly owes her R250 000.
She told Die Burger on Thursday: "It is time for the public to take notice of the situation."
In a statement Van der Westhuizen said that Baartmen asked her to invest R250 000 in a company. She was supposed to obtain 20% of the shares in the said company. It would have been a Section 21 company with profits going towards the managing of Radio Houtstok.
"The company was Applewood Trading PTY Ltd."
Van der Westhuizen started working as a presenter on June 16 of this year. She requested the share certificate from Baartman on several occasions, but he is yet to provide her with it.
Baartman has since borrowed more money from her and has only managed to pay back R5 000.
"After thorough investigation by my lawyer, it has been brought to my attention that the shares could never be sold, because Applewood Trading is merely a shelf company that never belonged to Baartman."
Treated 'like dirt'
Van der westhuizen lodged a complaint against Baartman at ICASA earlier this month. "All the money at the station is being mismanaged."
Baartman however denies that she ever requested the share certificate. He plans to pay the money back on a monthly basis once the station is running again.
Van Der Westhuizen was told earlier that she would not be able to own shares in the Section 21 company, but that she would own shares in Applewood Trading.
After this was explained to her, the plan was abandoned. Anita was aware of this fact. Part of the original agreement was that she would be made a presenter at the station.
"Her whole attitude changed when I told her that I won't be using her for the Uitvaltyd show anymore because people complained," claims Baartman.
Van der Westhuizen denies this and says that she was treated "like dirt". "I was gaining popularity and Louis couldn't handle it."
