Johannesburg - Controversial sex convention Sexpo will not only be exhibiting kinky sex toys, but this year South African fans will be able to see live sex shows, reports IOL.

Sexpo visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite porn star as part of a competition where hopefuls will perform all kinds of sexual acts on stage.

A new reality show Porn Stars has enlisted the help of Sexpo fans to find the country's next male and female porn stars.

Porn Stars will travel to Durban in August and to Johannesburg in September, but not to Cape Town.

Porn Stars producer Donovan van Wyngaard says Sexpo visitors will be able to choose the winners of the competition from 100 finalists.

Sexual performance

The winners will receive R5000 each plus a role in a Hustler porn movie, which will be filmed at the end of the year.

Strip club owner and Survivor winner Gigi, Afrikaans writer Yolanda Barnard and Hustler's Adam Gordon are the three judges who chose the 100 finalists.

"Those that managed to make the 120 cut did a fantastic job. The first set of auditions involve us judging the acting skills, while the next set will involve the sexual performance of the individuals," said Van Wyngaard.

There is also talk of the competition being aired on TV, but Van Wyngaard could not confirm which channels are interested.
