Timbaland's SA shows cancelled

Cape Town – Hip Hop producer and artist Timbaland finally landed in Durban on Monday.

Timbaland is in South Africa to take part in ZARFest, organised by controversial businessman Kenny Kunene and his business partner Gayton McKenzie.

IOL reports that Timbaland’s late arrival follows after his private jet experienced technical problems in Bermuda; causing him to miss his scheduled performance in Zimbabwe over the weekend.

Kunene has invited a number of international artists, amongst them R&B star Ciara, rapper Fat Joe, as well as Lil Kim and DJ Scratch.

Cancelled

However, ZAR has announced via their website that two of the four concerts that were scheduled as part of the ZARfest have had to be cancelled due to slow ticket sales.

Computicket’s website indicates that both the Durban and the Cape Town shows have been cancelled. The Johannesburg show taking place in the Coca Cola Dome, will however still continue.

ZAR have stated on their website: "ZAR has unfortunately had to cancel ZARfest in Durban and Cape Town. The Johannesburg Coca-Cola Dome show still continues and those who bought Durban and Cape Town tickets can use their refunds to attend these shows. As is normal for concerts, all tickets already sold at Computicket for Durban and Cape Town will be fully refunded to our clients at their nearest Computicket outlet."
