Pretoria – Well-known South African magician Martino is still in a serious but stable condition after beeing admitted to intensive care at a Pretoria hospital on Tuesday.
64-year-old Martino has reportedly developed sepsis after an operation on his intestinal tract.
His fiancée, Letisha Sonnekus, had said on Tuesday that he was in ICU and that had been sedated at one point.
She confirmed on Thursday that his condition was slightly more stable but that he was still being closely monitored in ICU.
Martino has been entertaining South Africans for longer than four decades. He lives in Bela-Bela (Warmbad) and he grew up in Pretoria.
He is especially well-known as the creator of the phrase "Kul jou hier, kul jou daar en siedaar!"
His first TV series, Die Kulkuns van Martino, was broadcast on South African television in the 1980s.
