Cape Town –The 2012 YOU Spectacular Award winners were announced at a star-studded ceremony that took place in Montecasino on Saturday.

The ceremony, held every year to honour South Africa's favourite celebrities, was attended by stars and readers of the popular weekly magazine.

YOU editor, Linda Pietersen, was happy that the event turned out as planned.

"Once again, YOU Spectacular was an enormous success.

"It's a wonderful opportunity to mingle with the people we feature in our magazine and share the night with some of our readers too."

Biggest winners

Jeannie D of Top Billing  fame emceed the event and was also one of the evening's biggest winners. She took home the Sexiest Female Celeb and Most Popular Female Celeb titles.

Ashish Gangapersad, who plays Pradashan Naicker in Isidingo, was this year's Most Popular Celeb following his Favourite Newcomer Award in 2011.

The special YOU Personality of the Year Award went to Anicé Kruger, mom of burn victim Pippie Kruger.

Each category was chosen by the public and 63 000 votes were cast in 14 different categories.
