Comedian Michael McIntyre adds extra Cape Town date to his SA tour

Cape Town - As anticipated, tickets to outrageous English comedian Michael McIntyre’s show at GrandWest on 19 January 2018 are almost sold out. Buoyed by demand, an extra show has been added on 18 January 2018.

"We are thrilled to confirm that McIntyre will be performing two shows at the Grand Arena in January 2018. This is great news for his broad base of fans in the Western Cape. We expect the second show to sell fast as well," says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest.

McIntyre is venturing to South Africa as part of his Big World Tour. The shows at GrandWest are two of only three performances he will do while in the country. This is not the first time he has visited South Africa. In fact, he holds the record for the biggest selling comedy shows in the country, as well as in Norway.

In the United Kingdom, McIntyre has performed three arena tours selling over 1.5 million tickets, including a record 28 times at London`s 16 000 capacity O2 Arena where he was awarded the keys to the venue along with Prince, Take That and One Direction.

Around the world, he has previously sold out arenas in New Zealand, Australia and Dubai. Also an actor and presenter, he currently presents his own television show Michael McIntyre's Big Show on BBC One. The last series averaged over 6.5 million viewers and recently received two British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards nominations.
