Cape Town - Elizabeth Hurley has shared an update on her nephew, Miles Hurley, revealing that he is recovering after being stabbed in London earlier this month.

The Royals star (52) wrote in an Instagram post that although 21-year-old Miles is slowly recovering after being attacked, he is still in a lot of pain and can hardly move.

"Thank you to all who sent such kind messages following the news that my nephew @mileshurley1 was viciously stabbed last week," she captioned a photo of herself holding a dove.

"His wound is shocking, he remains in great pain and he can hardly move, but he is slowly recovering. My sister is an amazing mother and is looking after him and his friend – who was also stabbed."

According to People, Miles was stabbed multiple times on a street in Nine Elms, South West London, on 8 March.

London's Metropolitan Police confirmed to E! News that an ambulance arrived at the scene and discovered two 21-year-old men with stab wounds.

According to police, Miles and his friend were involved in a minor car crash with another vehicle, and then got into an argument with its occupants.

They drove off after the scuffle, but the other car followed them. When they stopped, a group of men got out and assaulted Miles and his friend before driving off.

Two days after the attack, the 52-year-old Royals star tweeted that her nephew was “repeatedly stabbed in a brutal attack in London.”

Elizabeth shares a close bond with her nephew, who is already making waves as a model.

Miles has modelled for designers like Roberto Cavalli, Salvatore Ferragamo, Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana.

The actress added in her Instagram post that the violence need to stop, stating: “We need to make our streets safer and I want to be part of the movement to achieve that. I hope you will join me.”
