Johannesburg - Shoes are boring; wear sneakers! On Thursday, Converse All Star threw a party at the Museum of African Design in Maboneng to pay homage to a new generation’s interpretation of culture and style.
The Forever Chuck campaign presented an opportunity for a reflection on the dreams and desires that drive people who wear Chucks.
The party was held in a basement area, with the legendary street sneaker on display for fans to admire.
The campaign centres around a short film by Karim Huu Do, which features influential celebrities such as rapper Keith Ape, the Gucci Gang (a fashion squad from Paris), Los Angeles gangster rapper Vince Staples and Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, to name a few.

South African songstress Moonchild, known for her fierce style and quirky pop sound, showed some love at the launch.
“I’ve worked with them [Converse] before. I really dig the brand,” she said.
Hip-hop Legend HHP rocked a pair of Chucks at the event.
Others in attendance included stylist Lethabo “Boogy” Maboi, TV personality Lerato Sengadi and founder of the Social Market Maitele Wawe.
