Johannesburg - February was Language Month and the Pan South African Language Board (PanSALB) celebrated the end of their #SpeakItLiveIt campaign with the annual PanSALB Multilingualism Awards in Cape Town.

Among the participants were Judge Albie Sachs, who gave the inaugural language address, as well as Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula and praise poet Jessica Mbangeni.

Some of the winners on the night were Nathi for his album Umbulelo Wam; Fred Khumalo for #ZuptasMustFall and Other Rants; sports commentator Baba Mthethwa; Florence Masebe, who was honoured for her contribution to Tshivenda; and Professor E’skia Mphahlele, who was posthumously awarded the Chairman’s Lifetime Achievement Award. – Staff reporter
