Cape Town - Condolences for the late Hugh Masekela have been coming in from around the world following news of his passing yesterday.

The jazz legend died at the age of 78 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

Many took to social media to pay tribute to the world-famous trumpeter, sharing pictures of themselves with Bra Hugh – and retired South African football player, Mark Fish, was among them.

In a tweet Mark expressed his sadness, saying: “We love you forever…Thank you!”, accompanied with a picture of himself and Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse – who is very much alive.

It wasn’t long before the respected musician Hotstix Mabuse replied to the tweet, saying, “#MarkFish I am very much alive – oops ask my family or manager @MartinMyers or @BillyMonama – I am alive and well”.

Of course, Mark soon realised his error and apologised…

It was too little too late – social media users had already started with the memes…

Awkward!
