Cape Town - Steve Hofmeyr announced on Facebook on Sunday that he and his ex-lover Janine van der Vyfer are together again.
"This is not going to go down well everywhere. But I have to trust my heart every now and then. Time probably gives one new perspective. It removes the sting. We are damaged goods, but four days ago Janine and I started seeing each other again. Let’s see if this forgiveness-thing works," Hofmeyr said.
Hofmeyr’s marriage to Natasha Sutherland fell apart in 2009 after details about his relationship with van der Vyfer were made public.
Van der Vyfer brought 17 charges of libel against him in the Johannesburg High Court.
The court case was characterised by threats, warnings and disputes between Hofmeyr and Van der Vyfer.
Fans of Hofmeyr welcomed the news and wished the couple all the best.
