Do we really want to rock around the clock?

So... Linkin Park will be playing in South Africa in November.

Another rock band is coming to our shores. Is this the only genre we like seeing live?

I know you're going to say "Lady Gaga isn't rock" but her upcoming concert in SA is the exception to the rule.

Generally, we get more rock acts performing in SA than any other genre, or so it seems to me. Last year we had U2, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, years before that it was The Killers and before that MyCokeFest was crawling - no pun intended - with rock musos.

I've got to be honest and say I was highly disappointed to hear that the big announcement was Linkin Park and not The Foo Fighters. Now that's a rock show worthy of a big reveal.

Other than the Foo Fighters, what about some Beyoncé, what happened to the rumours of Justin Bieber coming to SA, and let's not forget Madonna. They'd better bring her here quick - she won't be touring forever!

I want me a pop show.

So whether you're jumping out of your seat to get a Linkin Park ticket or you're also just going: "Meh" - we want to hear from you! Send us your thoughts on Big Concerts and 5FM bringing Linkin Park to SA.

While I am disappointed, I can't deny they make some good music. Check out our Top 7 Linkin Park tunes here.

Well, enough with the negativity. The more international acts that come to play at our stadiums, the better. They're way better suited to live shows than housing developments anyway.

Here's to the rock - and pop - show,

Local is very lekker!
