This week South Africa lost another TV and radio icon in a very tragic way. Vuyo Mbuli collapsed while watching the Cheetahs' 27-13 Vodacom Super Rugby win over the Reds at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday night.
At 46 years old.
Yes, 46.
That's way too young.
And since then we've been inundated with tributes to Vuyo, actually inundated doesn't quite describe the over 300 e-mails and thousands of comments we've received since his death. And with all these messages and loving memories one cannot help but be in awe of how many lives Vuyo touched throughout his career.
From inspiring some to become teachers and further their studies to lifting spirits with his signature sayings such as 'sharp, sharp', Vuyo was home to many people. See more of our readers' tributes to Vuyo here.
Vuyo was best known for presenting the SABC's Morning Live alongside his long-time co-anchor Leanne Manas. Sitting next to Vuyo's empty chair and pink flowers honouring his legacy on Monday's Morning Live episode, Leanne paid tribute to Vuyo saying she lost her "morning husband".
With everyone from President Jacob Zuma to local celebrities hailing Vuyo, we've once again realised how short life actually is. Anything can happen at any time. So without sounding too cliché, don't postpone things you want to do in life, or being happy for that matter, because there's no time like the now.
And with that, may you rest in peace Vuyo.
