8 big SA music events you can’t miss this summer!

Cape Town – Want to attend some awesome events over the next month or two but don’t know what’s happening?

Not to worry, we’ve got you covered!

Whether you’re a rock, electronic or folk fan, there’s something for everyone happening soon.

Check out these music events that you can’t miss:

1) John Legend SA tour

American soul singer and Grammy award winner John Legend will be treating SA fans to his show, An Evening with John Legend: The All of Me Tour in November. The tour has sold out in over 60 cities in the US and features John in an intimate setting, highlighted by guitar/vocal accompaniment as well as a string quartet.

He will be playing in Cape Town on 15, 16 and 17 November, in Durban on 21 November and in Johannesburg on 22 and 23 November. Tickets have already sold out for all his shows, but you never know, maybe you get lucky! Click here for more information on the show.



2) Thirty Seconds to Mars SA tour

Oscar award winner and singer, Jared Leto, is bringing his band to SA once again! They will be playing in Johannesburg on 21 November at the Coca-Cola Dome and in Cape Town on 23 November at Grand Arena, GrandWest. Click here for more info and to get your tickets.



3) Synergy Live 2014

The Theewaters Sports club on the banks of the Theewaterskloof Dam, Villiersdorp, once again plays host to a jam-packed, three day weekend of live entertainment from Friday 28 November to Sunday 30 November 2014. UK indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club is this year’s main stage headliner, and other international acts that have been announced include Captain Hook, Atmos  and Mindwave. 4) Sounds Wild

Bombay Bicycle Club will also be headlining this event in Johannesburg where top local acts Jeremy Loops, Shortstraw, Desmond & The Tutus, December Streets and Al Bairre will also be performing. This event will be taking place on Friday 28 November at Marks Park in Emmarentia. Click here for more info and to get tickets.



5) The Lumineers SA tour

US folk-rock sensation, The Lumineers, will be playing in Cape Town at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on 4 and 5 December and at Johannesburg’s Emmarentia Dam for a daytime concert on 6 December. Both Cape Town shows have sold out, but there’s still space for Johannesburg.

Opening acts include Majozi for the Cape Town show, while the Johannesburg crowd will welcome Majozi, Dear Reader and Alice Phoebe Lou as supporting acts for the daytime concert. Get your tickets and more info here.



6) Table Mountain Blues Summit 2014

If you’re a blues fan, or just generally a music lover, then you can’t miss this 2 day music festival taking place at the Hillcrest Quarry, Durbanville in Cape Town. The festival is taking place on 6 and 7 December and will feature artists such as Dan Patlansky, Albert Frost Trio, Boulevard Blues, The Blues Broers, Gerald Clark and the Deadmen, Fake Leather Blues Band and many more.

7) Foo Fighters SA tour

This must be the one rock band we have all been waiting for! This US band fronted by Dave Grohl is set to rock Cape Town on 10 December and Johannesburg on 13 December. UK indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs as well as local Jozi rockers BLK JKS will be opening for the Foo Fighters. We can’t wait! Click here for more info and to get your tickets.



8) Electric Vines Music Festival 2014

If you’re looking to celebrate the New Year in a chilled setting with some rocking music, then we have just the thing for you! The festival is taking place at the Arabella Wine Estate in Robertson Valley on Tuesday 30 December and Wednesday 31 December 2014. International act Sun City will be joining local acts Just Jinjer, Prime Circle, Pascal & Pearce, Monark, Matthew Mole, Cath Grenfell, Goodluck, Jesse Clegg, Gangs of Ballet and Jeremy Loops.
