Cape Town - The foot stomping, skirt lifting, shoulder popping musical bliss of Pretoria-based band December Streets has been caressing the ears of many since 2009.

With their eclectic rhythms, slick beats, reggae/ska trumpet, symphonic trio of guitars and voices to match they are uniting genres and people alike. Their style ranges, but the catchy beat-lyric combos found in songs like Fire through the Window and Who Needs Shoes are signature.

They recently released a brand new single, Stay By Me, with a brand new sound to critical acclaim. The band also released a music video for Stay By Me.

On Wednesday they will be releasing another video for Stay By Me - a Part 2 if you wish.

We thought it best to find out a bit more about the guys behind the band.

Here are 5 thing you didn’t know about December Streets:

1) Tristan (vocals) was in the 2004 tsunami in Thailand.

2) The band is made of 1 doctor, 1 engineer, 1 architect, 1 designer and 1 programmer.

3) Corneil (drums) has the most incredible dance moves imaginable to mankind! Picture John Travolta/jellyfish/spiderpig.

4) Tristan genuinely got raided by a mob of fans thinking he was Justin Bieber in Brazil 2 years ago.

5) Each of the me band members have half foreign blood, including Hungarian, Swiss & German, Dutch & Mexican.
