Cape Town – The South African music scene is really blowing up with some awesome local talent these days.
We feel the scene is actually in such a good place at the moment that we can't always tell our local acts from international acts anymore, and sometimes we even prefer the local talent to the American and European exports.
These bands may be young, but they know how to get you up and dancing, singing or just feeling good.
Al Bairre
Having only been around for two and a half years, this independent 4-piece indie band from Cape Town has already played alongside international acts like Alt-J, Skunk Anansie and The Hives. The band’s combination of cello, violin, guitars, keys, ukulele and drums make for an energetic performance.
Beatenberg
If you don’t know Beatenberg, then we have some advice for you: Switch on your radio! With hits such as Chelsea Blakemore and Remember You (with DJ Clock), these 3 Capetonians have made been making waves in the SA music scene.

Jeremy Loops
This guy is a real treat to watch live on stage! He calls himself a modern folk artist and with a loop pedal, he layers tunes like a one man band. He released his debut album Trading Change this year with hits such as Sinner and Down South.

Toya Delazy
Toya is dropping her second album, Ascension, on 28 October and we simply can’t wait! This 24-year-old took home the awards for Newcomer of the Year and Best Pop Album at the 2013 SAMAs. She also made a major impact on South African top 40 radio with the release of her singles Pump It On, Love Is in the Air, Are You Gonna Stay?, Heart and Memoriam.
