Accusations fly between Vodacom, Cell C

Johannesburg – Vodacom’s advertising agency, Draftfcb, has accused a former employee of unethical conduct regarding Cell C’s new advertising campaign.

Vodacom reinvented their brand at the beginning of April, subsequently changing their distinctive blue colouring to red, matching their mother company, Vodafone. Shortly after this change in palette, Cell C hit back with a campaign of their own starring their 'CEO' Trevor Noah.

Draftfcb is now accusing their former creative director of leaking confidential Vodacom information in order to launch the Cell C campaign.
