Anele ups the ante

Q:  How did you make your break in the business?

A: I joined Tuksfm and started with doing shows at 12am, where you feel no one is listening but the radio bug had bitten so much, I did not care that everyone was out having fun or sleeping , I was on RADIO!

Q:  You've worked with Ian von Memerty on Strictly Come Dancing and now on SA's Got Talent – tell us something interesting about him that we wouldn't guess.

A: LOL , he does the weirdest stretching exercises when we take a break or go for lunch , and he likes to tap dance without tap shoes but he goois ( goes all out ).

Q:  Why do you think reality talent shows are so popular?

A: They are popular because it is real people, there was no casting, these people were sitting on their couch yesterday, not knowing that they will ever make it onto any stage and now they are being watched by the entire country . Real life is much more entertaining.

Q:  What's your honest advice to someone who's devastated that they didn't make it to the next round of the competition?

A: That Oprah heard 'NO' a lot more times than she heard 'YES', that Ellen Degeneres was out of a job once upon a time and look at her now! No does not mean never, it means not yet.

Q:  In your opinion, what are the three most important things you need to succeed in this competition?

A: Consistency
    Passion
Oh, and a slight thing called talent!

Q: If you were a contestant, what would your talent be and why do you think you're good at it?

A: I would probably recite a scene from a movie, I know the entire script from "Face Off" and "Lion King".

Q:  Word association
What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say…

A: Didgeridoo: kangeroos
    Chicken: Licken
    Sparks: hair
    Talent: 10%
    Red: Lips

Q: Rob's a pretty funny guy. Are you funny? Tell us a joke to prove you've got some comedy chops.

A: I am funnier than Rob.

Catch Rob and Anele on SA's Got Talent from 1 October on SABC 2 at 19h30.
