Crazy in love

Sniff, sniff. Season four of Two and a Half Men ends on 10 November! If you need a loving shoulder to cry on, beware of the romantically challenged Charlie (Charlie Sheen). His talent seems to be courting disaster! The fact is, not even Charlie can keep up with Charlie’s love life. But if you’re as happily married to the remote as we are, these Two and a Half Men dating disasters will keep you warm and fuzzy through the bleak months while we wait for season five to start.

Mia – Charlie was really in love with Mia (Emmanuelle Vaugier from CSI: New York), but bolted just before their wedding. Charlie is like a dog who chases cars but has no idea what to do with one if he actually catches it. Could Mia be back for round two in the future?

Lydia – Charlie dealt with his mommy issues in glorious technicolour (remember the orange suit vs the green suit?) with Lydia (Katherine LaNasa), whose resemblance to his mom Evelyn had everyone except Charlie creeped out. Then the penny dropped when he met her sons, a mini Charlie and Alan.

Danielle – With Charlie, it’s all about the trophy. The tougher the contest, the more he wants the prize. Charlie very kindly hooked his brother Alan (Jon Cryer) up with pretty neighbour Danielle (Brooke Shields), only to decide (once she was taken) that he actually wanted to keep all the neighbourly goodies for himself.

Rose – As in neighbour Rose, stalker Rose, and the best woman in Charlie’s life. But Charlie wouldn’t be Charlie if it didn’t actually take losing the girl for him to realise he has feelings for her. Rose fans, don’t despair. Actress Melanie Lynskey left Two and a Half Men to join a show called Drive, but it was cancelled, so Charlie gets to go play with Rose in London next season!

Myra – with Alan’s ex-wife Judith (Marin Hinkle) marrying Herb (played by Ryan Stiles from Whose Line is it Anyway?), Alan could finally stop paying alimony, but Charlie’s sudden interest in the groom’s sister Myra (Judy Greer) almost stopped the wedding.

Linda – Here’s something to look forward to: Judge Linda Harris (a woman Charlie’s own age!), will be popping up in season five. In a desperate bid to get the girl, a drunken Charlie commits an actual crime just so he can go before Judge Linda (Ming-Na from ER) in court!

PS: If you’re still wondering where Charlie got these mad love skills, don’t miss the 10 November finale, in which mom Evelyn makes Charlie look like a saint.

Two and A Half Men airs on Tuesdays on SABC 3 at 19:30.
