After the successful launch of their new Intelsat 20 (IS-20), DStv will be shaking things up in October.
Due to a bigger platform and space on their new satellite, the pay-tv service has now added some more channels to their existing service and as a result some of the channel numbers will be affected.
A newly packaged HD movie channel bouquet is being added to DStv, including a few other channels that will now also be available in HD.
While the Universal Channel and Studio Universal channels are both being upgraded to HD from October, DStv is removing the M-Net Movies 1, M-Net Movies 2 and M-Net HD (170) channels. Don't worry - M-Net is still available in HD, but it will be in simulcast on channel 101.
They're being replaced by six new TV channels in HD for DStv Premium viewers: M-Net Movies Premiere, M-Net Movies Action+, M-Net Movies Family, M-Net Movies Comedy, M-Net Movies Drama & Romance and M-Net Movies Showcase.
