Idols: Durban's funniest auditions

In the second episode of Idols Season 8, ProVerb and the judges took to uShaka Marine World in Durban to see what South Africa's playground had to offer in the way of singing talent.

What they did find was a lot of big dreamers who didn't always have the chops to back-up their aspirations.

Here are some of our most memorable hopefuls from Durban.

Watch and weep.

Chere Thomas
Chere Wants to be a singer and a radio DJ - and she'll take whichever career comes first. Let's see how the panel - made up of seasoned radio presenters - rate Chere's skill behind a mic.

Quinton du Toit
Ladies man Quinton is just in it for the fame and to score chicks. He sings Careless Whisper by Seether for the judges.

Vincent the Michael Jackson impersonator
Strictly speaking, Vincent was the day's biggest winner, scoring R300 from Gareth for raking in as much money at a local mall with his dancing talent. However, he seemed displeased with the result.

Idols 8 airs on M-Net and Mzansi Magic on Sundays at 17:30.
